Preformed Surface Dressing
Preformed Surface Dressing is an exceptionally versatile,
ready-to use, hard wearing skid resistant surface for pedestrian
Preformed comprises a high performance polymer modified
bituminous binder and a layer of skid resistant calcined bauxite
chippings strengthened by an integral mesh. Preformed can be used
on most surfaces, including wood, concrete, asphalt and steel.
Where to use?
- Pedestrian subways
Surfaces must be dry, clean and free from dust, oil and fuel
spillage. CP Primer should be used to enhance initial adhesion of
Preformed Surface Dressing on all sites.
Roll out enough material to cover the area to be surfaced and,
with the backing film upwards, cut the Preformed Surface Dressing
with a sharp knife.
Then prime the surface using CP Primer applying the binder as
thinly and evenly as possible (too much could result in the primer
bleeding through or the debonding of the Preformed Surface
When the CP Primer is touch dry, peel off the backing film and
apply the Preformed Surface Dressing to the surface. Take care to
ensure that the positioning of the Preformed Surface Dressing is
accurate as once laid it is extremely difficult to remove.
Edges should be butt jointed to achieve a neat close-fitting
Preformed Surface Dressing should be applied onto a dry surface
in minimum temperatures of 10°C.
Rolls should be stored upright as directed on outer box. Keep in
dry store under cover and protect from frost and extreme heat.
Preformed Surface Dressing is supplied in individually boxed
rolls 5m long by 1m wide.
